陆游 - 卜算子·咏梅 (Ode to the Plum Blossom by Lu You) - Lim Tze Peng writes the characters of Ode to the Plum Blossom by Lu You (1125-1210) - a famous Song Dynasty poet and government official. The poem addresses the loneliness of the plum blossom which thrives in winter when other plants fail and is a symbol of resilience and perseverance in Chinese culture. Lu You was disappointed with his corrupt fellow officials and this poem reflected his feelings.
