Review reading and writing whole numbers with your students using my low-prep place value activities. In this example activity, students will practice being given a number in word or expanded form, and using a place value chart to display this number in standard form.⁠

The 4th grade standard only requires them to know that a digit in one place is 10x the value of the same digit in the place to the right. My activities have practice for that, but also include other powers of ten (100x, 1,000x, etc.) as well as showing how one place is ten times LESS as the place to its left.
