Sharing this because I couldn't find any examples of how this table took to stain when we were shopping around. Hopefully this helps the next person looking. The tabletop is a different wood than the shelves/legs, so it came out a darker colour. Plus, it dents *really* easily. But, I don't mind, just adds to the lived-in look. I love how it turned out! We used Varathane Dark Walnut stain and a semi gloss poly finish.
