江戸時代から続く笠間焼や陶芸の街として知られる笠間市にサウナ施設を計画した。 薪ストーブの炎のゆらぎ、井水によって建物内に伝わる水の音、吹き抜けから入る光、外気欲に抜ける季節ごとの風、は日常の喧騒から離れ自然と対峙する。茶室の露地は歩むうちに茶室入りの覚悟をさせるが、この建物ではサウナに向かう軸線がサウナにより熱され水風呂によって清浄される体験を期待させる。
