This eagle was sitting in a tree overlooking the channel just south of Powell River. He sat and watched us for quite some time as I tried to get a good shot with the camera. Painting him was a challenge as I wanted to show his fierce countenance yet accentuate the soft beauty of his markings. The foggy background is typical of this part of the world until noon when the sun burns it off. The trees are mostly fir and cedar.
