WHY YOU CANT TOUCH YOUR TOES⁉️😩 Do these!  If you’ve always wanted to touch your toes then do these exercises!   Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist I would blame my tight hamstrings for being the issue- when In reality there are multiple joints that can be at fault.  Let’s stop only blaming your hamstrings for your inability to touch your toes! 😅  In order too Touch your toes, you need:  • back flexion aka bending in not only your lower back but mid and upper back too  • hamstring mobility & strength  • hip mobility  -calf mobility  The biggest misconception is that you need to only statically stretch your hamstrings … this will get you good at one thing… statically stretching your hamstrings 😂   Bending forward to touch your toes is an ACTIVE movement, which requires both streng

Things to remember:
• Breathe! Don’t hold your breath while stretching. Each exhale thing about your muscles melting/lengthening. 

• in the first 4 keep your spine and head in alignment. Don’t break the neck, think flat/tall back and press shoulders away from your ears. 

• Always be warm! Great stretches to do after a workout, a walk or shower.
