This one exercise can be super beneficial for overall daily functionality. SAVE NOW and give it a go 💪🏼 Hold on to a doorway for assistance or no assistance for those who are advanced. Start with feet a bit wider than shoulder width and toes slightly pointing out. Slowly ease yourself into a ‘Deep Bodyweight Squat’ position, taking your hips as low as they can go. Hold for a few seconds and return to standing. Perform with caution if you have preexisting injuries. This stretch can be extremely beneficial but MAY NOT BE FOR EVERYONE! This little one has weak inner thigh (adductor) muscles and tends to “froggy” out. She has difficulty keeping her knees facing forward in the sitting position and when she is on her tummy trying to get into 4-pt kneeling

⭐️ This exercise works on:

🔹 Inner thigh strength and early weight bearing:

↪️ Cue neutral alignment (feet and knees facing forward) and weight through the feet. Have the baby reach forward for a toy-this adds increased weight through the lower extremities. Gently ease up on your support to see if the baby can hold this position with less assistance

If you just can’t reconnect with your abs or your back always hurts, this one’s for you! When your abs are weak, you will try to find stability from your back muscles. But when the workload is unfairly distributed to your back, it will end up tight, tired, and painful. 

😫 If we want different muscles to carry the load, we need to create more options. This is where the deep squat comes in. 🐒 This hip position creates length in your pelvic floor and hips. When you add something to hold on to, you create lengthening options for your back as well. Just make sure your ‘something to hold on to’ is nice and sturdy. For best results, you want to really lean away from it without having to worry about safety. Then, add your breath for even more stretch.
