A holiday home dream came to life in Salt at Shoal Bay | Inside Out

I love when I find a house that's just as beautiful (if not more) on the outside as it is on the inside. Today's modern Texas farmhouse is a prime example.

Taking inspiration from the mid-century modern design era and combining it with our own brand of creative flair, we created the impeccable ‘Ferndale’.

In a flood-prone area of suburban Brisbane, a post-war cottage was extended into a contemporary and colourful split-level family home by architect Shaun Lockyer.

In collaboration with Andrew Simpson Architects and Overend Constructions, Atlite Skylights installed a multitude of fixed and electrically operated Roof Windows. To draw light and ventilation into what is a poorly oriented and deep footprint, an extensive number of operable skylights were introduced on the north and south-facing roof pitches, and a large void connecting the ground and first floor was strategically positioned to also take advantage of this amenity.
