1️⃣ Don’t just start running…WARM UP

Warming up fully reduces risk of injury and can help you perform more consistently. While it’s tempting to skip, all it takes is 5-10 minutes to start your run safely.

2️⃣ Don’t just foam roll…PAUSE & HOLD

On tender areas for 30 seconds or until you feel them release. Most running injuries don’t happen immediately — rather they are the result of 1000s of strides per run. This is why it’s important to correct imbalances before they have a chance to compound over time.

3️⃣ CALVES & FEET

Shin splints anyone? Beyond progressing mileage gradually — bent and straight leg calf raises, tib raises, and jump rope have helped me immensely.

4️⃣ Impact /= Injury

Sprint workout for soccer players! This one is a favorite of mine to work on strength, power, and anaerobic conditioning. For this workout I set the treadmill to 12 incline and sprint as fast as I can for 12 seconds. Today I did this at 12mph. I completed 10 reps total resting for 1 minute between each rep. If you don’t have a treadmill you can also just find a hill and sprint up that! #soccer #sprintworkout #soccerworkout
