Although estrogen is rising in the follicular phase and is supported by intermittent fasting & higher fat meals, we have to change this approach when we near ovulation!  For ovulation to occur (your ovary releasing an egg) your body needs to feel like it is a SAFE home for a potential baby. If it doesn’t feel safe, it can delay or even skip ovulation!  When we fast or lower carb intake, this naturally raises cortisol a little, and while this is TOTALLY okay in certain parts of our cycle, we don’t want to do this at the end of the follicular phase right before ovulation because it can create the notion of scarcity in the body!
