Are your shoulders rounded forward?

Maybe you're starting to have shoulder, neck, and/or upper back pain as well?

Much of our lives are spent in a rounded shoulder posture.

We can start to correct our posture, improve shoulder health, and our improve our ability to breath properly  (it's harder to breathe with a rounded shoulder posture) with "Swimmer hover's" 

You can include "Swimmer hovers" as part of your exercise program or intermittently through the day as a movement break.

Start in a seated position with a neutral spine and chin tucked.

Place your hands on your lower back and retract shoulder blades by pulling your elbows back.

Then, without rounding your spine or allowing your chest to collapse, lift your hands off your lower back.

☸️Find Your Wheel Pose☸️

Backbends are often called heart openers💖

Why? Because it’s meant to be less of a ‘back bend’ and more of a front body opener. So top tip when you’re practicing any backbends, focus on opening the front body rather than using your back to bend🤗

💪🏼 Strength is very important in a backbend, all of the body (legs, glutes, back, shoulders, arms) are all recruited to protect your back body in a backbend.

💍 Engagement of the transverse abdominis (deep core muscles) is important to protect the spine, which means we need to actively pull the belly button in towards the back of the spine.

We also stretch thoroughly! I’ve added a few examples of exercises and stretches you can add to your practice 🥰

Do your hips clicking when you do lying leg raises, or similar core exercises?  I used to avoid direct core training because of the annoying clicks.  Here are a few things that will help reduce the clicks...  🔹focus on the spine (instead of what the legs are doing); when the spine starts to arch off the floor, the core is no longer controllong the movement...the hip flexors have to control the movement.  And they may not be strong enough yet to do it (hence the clicking)  • 🔹engage the inner thigh muscles (adductors) to help support the hip  • 🔹focus on quality of each repetition versus the number of repetitions  • 🔹slow down the speed of every repetition  • 🔹add strengthening exercises for the hip flexors  • 🔹 consistency is key; the clicks will not go away with 1 or 2 workouts
