This applies to all endeavours in life really! You gotta get the basics first.

In flamenco, it's very important that you cover the basics well, it'll be a struggle to do a step fast if you can't do it slow.

Even as an experienced dancer myself, if I'm learning a new step, I always practice it slowly at first, learn the movements and then progress with speed. And if I'm still not getting the step at the speed I want, I'll rewind and start from slow again.

Same with learning how to improvise for Bulerías por Fiesta - you gotta learn the basics and the basic structure before you go out in the middle and start improvising. Without this basic knowledge, improvising is one big scary mess 😯😂
