Today we’re talking about RDLs - Romanian Deadlifts!

RDL exercises will improve strength AND flexibility which is why I program them for my 1:1 dancers all the time and do them myself every week at the gym.

The exercises ⬆️highlight some variations on the RDL for your training:
 • 👉standing RDL (hard flat surface)
 • 👉standing RDL (soft surface like a yoga block)
 • 👉dumbbell RDL (hold dumbbells close to body as you move)

👉B stance RDL (2nd leg is close to the standing side - with very little weight on it)

⭐RDLs target the posterior muscles, primarily the hamstrings, glutes, and spine.  They build strength,while working on hamstring flexibility. 
 • ⭐On a soft surface, it becomes more difficult to balance.  
 • ⭐Adding a dumbbell increases the weight which increases the workload

Try these SINGLE LEG DEADIFT Tips ⬇️

1️⃣ Close your hips. Keep your pelvis neutral. When you’re at the bottom of the move your hips should be facing the ground not the wall. *MAJOR KEY

2️⃣ Hold weight in opposite hand. Standing on your right leg holding weight with your left hand. This helps with tip #1.

3️⃣ Keep a soft bend in your knees to bias the glutes over your hamstrings.
