Delta waves are the slowest, calmest brain waves we have and they not only stimulate the release of oxytocin, serotonin and GABA, they also reduce cortisol output.  Delta waves can even down regulate your amygdala, so you can move out of feeling activated and create a deep sense of safety, relaxation and calm in your body and nervous system.

You do Havening by rubbing your palms together, by stroking downwards on your arms in a moving hug type of movement, or you can stroke your face, cheeks or forehead.
