Your glutes are not asleep, but this will def make them work. This hit had me BURNIN😅 take balance out of the equation because we love less variable for added intent and build up your glute strength with this trio! 

I’m not a fan of absolutes but I can (almost) promise you will feel so strong (/miserable for a little) after!😂

I’d assign these to ANY runner or athlete with hip pain, knee injuries (ACL/meniscus tear), hamstring tendinopathy, or ankle instability!

What it works:
 • -foot and toe control
 • -ankle stability
 • -glute strength
 • -hamstring strength at long lengths
 • -high hamstring focus
 • -hip abductors

-grip strength because kettlebells😅

🔑 Pick some weights that are challenging but not impossible to hover in deep positions for a few seconds. I went with 25s.

Limited of hip mobility & strength can get in the way of squats, playing sports/changing direction, getting in/out of cars, daily life —it adds up.

If an athlete lacks range in a joint but needs the motion, the body will try and make up for it elsewhere during activity. Lack of range could be due to a few things including lack of strength, increased muscle tension, and even structural variations. 

It’s imp to honor our hip sockets are all unique and may limit the way things move. BUT we still have to own this motion to SOME degree! 

Whether you’re dealing with a labral tears, hip impingement, back pain, hip tightness/knee pain, or balance and are active in sports from baseball to dance — OWN that hip ER and you’ll own your hip strength!

Pain below the glute at the top of the hamstring can be due to a few things but one possible culprit is proximal hamstring tendinopathy. 

This may come on as overuse specifically with doing too much too fast with activities that involve sprinting, lunging, hurdles, or hills. Static stretching with certain yoga/Pilates poses or compression to the area (sitting) might also contribute to discomfort here.

As with other tendinopathies (Achilles patellar), monitoring training load and symptoms is key in resolving this. 

We’re still learning more in how to tackle this with the evidence, but understanding hamstring anatomy and function is important in building the right rehab program, especially in an athlete.
