Dissolving the water soluble fabric out of my sculptural embroideries is my favourite part of the process. A few common questions I get asked whenever I post a video like this: What is this fabric: the material that I stitch onto is a water soluble fabric. It is a common stabiliser used in machine embroidery available from sewing stores. Is this fabric bad for the environment? The fabric is advertised as being environmentally friendly and 100% biodegradable 👍 How does the embroidery hold together when the fabric is removed? It’s all in how you stitch it? 😉 What will this become? These embroideries will be mounted and framed as original artworks. ☺️ Can I learn how to do this? You sure can!
