You can’t “just skip rope” to get the same benefits. It’s crazy I have to repeatedly point this out. But I do love jump roping. Also, if you believe that then more power to you.  These carry so many benefits. Foot, knee, ankle, hip/core health. They work on sequence and rhythm. Build a foundation for sprinting. They can be done at longer intervals for a cardiovascular benefit. And when you get good at them they are a fun way to exercise that leaves you feeling springy and athletic. They are extensive, which means they can be done with high volume and frequency without the risk of overtraining.  Adults are clunky and slow. That’s the hard truth. But we don’t have to be.
