Signs of a Chemical Reaction
A CHEMICAL CHANGE alters the composition of the original matter. Different elements or compounds are present at the end of the chemical change. The atoms in compounds are rearranged to make new and different compounds.
#chemical reaction These bubble are not derived from the physical change when a liquid changes to a gas, but instead they are a gas product in a chemical reaction. The physical state of gas is denoted by the (g) in the chemical equation.
#chemical reaction #endothermic #exothermic A change in temperature not associated with physical heating or cooling is a sign of a chemical reaction. Think of ice packs or the heat pack you can tear open.
#signs of a chemical reaction The five signs a chemical reaction has occurred are 1. Change in color, 2. Change in smell (don't smell the chemicals), 3. formation of a solid, 4. formation of bubbles and 5. change in temperature.
#Chemical Reactions This is a combustion reaction. The products on the right of the arrow will always be carbon dioxide and water. The reactants on the left side of the arrow will always be a hydrocarbon and molecular oxygen.
