The Serious Games Developer Program was a workshop series and game jam run organized by Games for Change (G4C) in collaboration with Global Game Jam and the US Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine.
The theme of 2020's event was "Connection", and we were requested to craft visual animated clips to inspire Ukrainian professionals and entusiasts who were interested in participating in this workshop to make social changes with game development.

The goal of the Serious Games Developer Program is to bring developers in Ukraine together and address social issues. Planned activities include a two-day workshop on creating "serious games" and the social impact game field; a two-day game jam to develop new serious games projects on relevant issues in Ukraine. One winning team received 5,000 USD to continue developing their project!

Invisible Threads
We had to be as subtle as possible to not interfere actively in the developers creative process. The solution was to play with the theme connection under a minimalistic lens of low frame rate, limited colour palette, geometric elements and some texture.
