Knowing who owns the companies that operate in the oil, gas and mining sectors is key to strengthening natural resource governance. It has also proven to be important to improve the investment climate and promote responsible business conduct.
The EITI International Secretariat is inviting colleagues in key partner organisations for some informal workshops and information sharing sessions on extractives governance.
We will discuss the outlook for beneficial ownership, state-owned enterprises, contract transparency, commodity trading, and other topics. We’ll also be looking at wider developments, and how the EITI can best add value, especially as we prepare for our next Global Conference in 2019.
This session will take place at the Open Government Partnership Summit in Tbilisi, Georgia and is co-hosted by the EITI and the Natural Resource Governance Institute.
