You can add or remove a video conference to your events in Google Calendar. You can use Google Meet or another video conferencing add-on.
Change video conference option on an event
Important: When you add Google Meet to a Google Calendar event, you get a unique meeting code. Until it expires, the meeting code is permanently linked to the original Calendar event. The guest list for the original event controls who can join your meeting and who has access to meeting records, like recordings and chat history. Learn about meeting codes in Google Calendar events.
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- Create an event or open an existing event you have edit access to.
- In the event, find the conferencing field.
- To add a new conference, click Add Google Meet video conferencing.
- To remove an existing video conference, click Remove
.
- If you installed a conferencing add-on from the Google Workspace Marketplace, select the conferencing provider from the âAdd conferencingâ dropdown menu. Learn how to install an add-on from the Marketplace.
- Click Save.
Take notes with Gemini in Meet
Important:
- This feature requires an eligible Google Workspace plan. Learn about Gemini features and plans.
- To turn on this feature from an event, your Calendar language must be set to English.
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- At the top left, click Create
Event.
- Click Add Google Meet video conferencing.
- Turn on Use Gemini to take meeting notes.
- Add guests and other details to your event.
- Click Save.
- Only event organizers can turn on Gemini to take meeting notes.
- To turn off this feature for your meeting:
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- Edit the event.
- Click Manage settings.
- Deselect Take notes with Gemini and Transcribe the meeting.
- Click Save.

I want to automatically add a Google Meet video conference to my event
- On your computer, open Google Calendar.
- In the top right, click Settings
Settings.
- On the left, click Event settings.
- Turn on Automatically add Google Meet video conferences to events I create.
I want to avoid multiple conferences on single events
- An event can have only one conference. You can use Google Meet or another video conferencing add-on.
- To use another video conference add-on, find and install the add-on from the Marketplace.
- When you add a conference to your event, select the add-on in the conferencing field dropdown.
- If you insert conference details directly into the location field or event description, or use a browser extension, it may result in multiple conferences being attached to a single event.
