Gorry Fairhurst
Pronouns: he/him

Gorry Fairhurst is a Professor at the University of Aberdeen, UK, where he has worked on Internet and transport protocols with a focus on protocol design, congestion control, and the transport API. My team has contributed in projects in satellite Internet, IP multicast, IPv6 and wide area measurement for the Internet.

Gorry has served as co-chair of the Datagram Congestion Control Research Group (DCCP) and the Transport and Services Working Group (TSVWG), and is active across a range of IETF working groups. He is also a member of the transport area review team. Gorry was selected as a WIT Area Director in 2025.
