Amtrak’s Chicago-Miami Floridian operates via Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Washington. So, yes, it operates in Northeast Ohio.

I know that because the red and gold front number plate on 4070 is now part of my collection from when I was volunteering on the CVL. It was replaced with a raised aluminum number plate over a Winter (probably 1976-’77, but maybe ’77-’78), and I fished it out of the scrap metal bin at the W. 3rd St. roundhouse. It’s just a piece of painted sheet steel, but one of the first artifacts I ever collected as a teenager. ]]> Comment on EL Monday: Working in Akron by pwwoodring https://akronrrclub.wordpress.com/2025/09/01/el-monday-working-in-akron-6/#comment-252762 Mon, 01 Sep 2025 10:26:00 +0000 http://akronrrclub.wordpress.com/?p=83862#comment-252762 If you know what year the rotating Akron Beacon Journal time/temperature sign was put on top of their building (visible behind the top of the station building), then you would know the earliest this photo was taken. ]]> Comment on Wild Mary Wednesday in New Castle by Paul https://akronrrclub.wordpress.com/2025/08/27/wild-mary-wednesday-in-new-castle/#comment-252761 Wed, 27 Aug 2025 16:38:29 +0000 http://akronrrclub.wordpress.com/?p=84795#comment-252761 This was shot on my 14th birthday. ]]> Comment on Looking Spiffy in Kentucky by csanders429 https://akronrrclub.wordpress.com/2025/08/13/looking-spiffy-in-kentucky/#comment-252758 Thu, 14 Aug 2025 15:23:03 +0000 http://akronrrclub.wordpress.com/?p=83354#comment-252758 In reply to Bob Farkas.
